The SGA Mobility Grant - updated

Get ready for SGA networking!

Are you in contact with an SGA member who runs a laboratory that could answer some of your research questions? The SGA Mobility Grant can help to bring you together! The SGA Mobility Grant offers an opportunity for regular SGA members to apply for (i) travel funding (up to €1000) to travel to a facility with an SGA background and (ii) funding to cover analytical costs (up to €1000) arising from the visit.

To be eligible applicants must have been an SGA member for at least 3 continuous years (i.e. paid up membership fees for the last 3 years). Student members are not eligible for the grant but up to 2 years of student membership can count toward the required 3 years of membership. To apply send your completed application form to the SGA Mobility Grant coordinator (thomas.aiglsperger@ltu.se).

Download the application form here.

A list of participating laboratories with available methods and contact details is available here.

Learning and sharing! That’s the spirit of the SGA Mobility Grant.

SGA Biennial Meeting abstract volumes - free to all!

The abstract volumes from the SGA biennial meetings are now free to download from our homepage.  Previously the volumes were available as a download for members or for purchase in the webshop.  The decision to allow free download to all was taken by the SGA Council in order to improve their availability and to promote the excellent science published in these volumes.

The volumes are available here or in the dropdown publications menu.

A number of other publications are available as free downloads to our members including SGA short course notes, SGA field trip guides and also SGA special publications.  The special publication "Isotopes in economic geology, metallogeny and exploration" is currently being compiled and a number of chapters are available to download.

Mineralium Deposita - bibliometric data for 2023

Mineralium Deposita is the official journal of the SGA. The bibliometric data for 2023 indicates that the journal continues to perform strongly giving the Impact Factor (IF) at 4.8. The IF is calculated based on the number of digital papers.

We are continuously looking for high quality papers from around the world to maintain and increase Mineralium Deposita’s status as the premier journal in the field. We thank the authors for their excellent research, the many referees and members of the Editorial Board for their insights steering submissions through the peer-review process.

It is widely acknowledged that there is a worldwide shortage of well-trained young professionals in the field of mineral deposit research and economic geology. By establishing the SGA Educational Fund (SGA EF), the SGA wishes to contribute to training the next generation of economic geologists by providing support for educational activities in mineral deposit geology for students and professionals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
